Director of Land Strategy
The Nature Conservancy, Wisconsin Chapter
Kurt serves as TNC’s Director of Land Strategy, working to increase the pace and scale of TNC's land acquisition and land management projects across Wisconsin’s Resilient and Connected Network of climate resilient lands. Previously, Kurt served as a Land Protection Specialist with TNC, acquiring conservation interests in land to protect native species and natural communities at Conservancy owned preserves throughout Wisconsin.
Kurt earned a B.S. in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Ecosystem Management from Duke University. His master’s work involved leading a study on the effectiveness of sheep grazing as a restoration tool within the native coastal sandplain grassland ecosystem of Nantucket.
