Director of Agriculture Strategies
The Nature Conservancy, Wisconsin Chapter

Steve Richter is responsible for defining and overseeing conservation strategies in agricultural landscapes across Wisconsin. TNC works with partners to install beneficial farm practices in ways that work with farmers.  Partnering with farm organizations and corporations to help soil health, create habitat and improve water quality.  


Steve began his career with The Nature Conservancy in 1991. In his earlier positions TNC, Steve conducted land management projects, such as prescribed fire, clearing of trees, brush and invasive species and planting prairie.  Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology from UW-Madison.
