About the event

Jeremie Favre and Ellen Geisler started Laxey Creek Sheep Ranch in 2022, a commercial meat-sheep operation centered around managed grazing. They are eager to share their experience and help others make a similar transition.

Come learn how:

  • Managed grazing provides excellent nutrition for productive livestock
  • Grass-legume mixtures boost resilience and yield
  • Sheep are managed to lamb every 8 months and are highly prolific

A rainfall simulator demonstration will show how different field managements impact soil erosion and water infiltration.

Come for the learning, stay for lunch and conversation. Lunch will be potluck style. Lamb meatballs off the farm will be provided. Please bring a dish of your choice to pass. Refreshments will be provided.
