About the event
The Thompson's farm has every type of driftless habitat imaginable, from grassland, pine relict, prairie remnant, oak opening, wetland, and more! They have been stewarding these incredible natural areas for many years, including with prescribed fire! Join us to see the results of their hard work as we tour the property and learn about all the different conservation strategies that they have used, with an emphasis on their fire practices.
After the tour, we will gather for a community potluck. At the potluck there will be an opportunity to learn about Prescribed Burn Associations (PBAs) and how they could help you to get more fire on your property!
This tour will include sections of steep terrain. We suggest that you wear comfortable hiking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather. Please bring a water bottle if you will want water during the tour portion of the event.
Since this event is occurring at a private residence, the official address will be sent to those who RSVP about a week ahead of the event.
Pheasants Forever Staff will provide a main course, some drinks, and plates/cutlery for the potluck. A signup sheet for other items to bring will be sent about a week ahead of the event.
We hope to see you there!
