About the event
Registration will cover the two-day workshop from 8AM to 4:30PM at Lancaster Agriculture Research Station in Lancaster, WI. This class focuses on teaching and learning so everyone walks away with confidence and ability to make the cuts they want using a chainsaw. Classes are based in small groups led by a professional sawyer to ensure we deliver the highest quality of information. We hope to deliver classes that are focused around safety, hands on education, building community, and the opportunity to ask questions.
Sessions will include:
Hands-on chainsaw practice
Personal Protective Equipment & Safety equipment
Maintaining a saw
Demonstrations of safe felling techniques (or even felling a tree yourself!)
Hands-on opportunity for supervised, safe practice (cutting trees up for firewood or smaller pieces)
Assessing the safety of the cuts
Answers to your chainsaw questions!
Please email Olivia Kovacs (olivia.kovacs@wisc.edu) with any questions.
If you have your own chaps, helmet, and chainsaw, please bring them to the workshop. A limited supply of these items will be available to use for those who do not have their own equipment. Space is limited to 12 per workshop so register early! For questions, please email Olivia Kovacs (olivia.kovacs@wisc.edu) with Chainsaw Workshop in the subject.
