Workshop I Intro to Prescribed Fire for Landowners I Southern Driftless Grasslands and Pheasants Forever

In this class, which will be held on private property in Mineral Point, your Pheasants Forever experts will dive into the basics of prescribed fire. The morning will consist of a classroom style setting, where we will present on topics such as fire behavior, burn unit prep, fire safety and more. Then, in the afternoon we will head outside to check out the equipment and, if weather permits, get to do some live fire exercises. If weather is not great for burning, we will still do some simulated exercises to get you familiar with tools, crew structures, and situational awareness while on a burn.

There are 25 spots available for this class. Coffee and light snacks provided throughout the day. Lunch will be provided around noon.

Please wear all natural fiber clothing (such as cotton) and no synthetics due to the potential hazards that synthetics pose around live fire. Leather boots are also encouraged.
