What to Expect:  For the Field Session, we will put the skills we learned on day one into practice, performing fire exercises in woodland fuels. This will help us to get familiar with tools and practice with ignition, holding, and mop-up techniques. You will need to be wearing all natural fibers (wool, cotton, linen). Some Nomex PPE will be available to borrow. Please make sure you have a water bottle and snacks that you can bring out in the field with you. In order to execute prescribed burning training, a safe environment is key. Weather conditions such as wind, humidity, precipitation and other factors are taken into consideration. If any of these factors are not met, the field session will be postponed to a “rain date” listed above.

Cost: $175 (If you are affiliated with the PF/SDG burn program please reach out to ohorton-pacana@pheasantsforever.org for a 20% discount code)
