Workshop I Squad Boss Two-Day Training I Wisconsin Prescribed Fire Council
Join us for our second-ever Squad Boss Training in Milwaukee, WI! This leadership course will help prescribed burners improve their decision-making skills while on the fire line.

About the event
Who: All workplace, volunteer, and private land burners with crew member experience are encouraged to register.
When: Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 from 8am to 5pm, with rain dates of May 9 and 10. The first day focuses on classroom instruction and small group exercises, while the second day focuses primarily to live fire exercises. Training dates and schedule are subject to change according to weather.
Where: The Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee, WI (Menomonee Valley / Silver City location). Many hotels are available nearby.
What to Bring: Trainees must bring a water bottle, a bag lunch, and fire-appropriate clothing including leather boots (at least 6″ tall), leather gloves, and long-sleeved pants and shirts made with all-natural fibers such as cotton (no synthetic fibers such as polyester or nylon). Trainees must also be in good health and willing to sign a liability waiver after registration. Personal Protective Equipment, fire tools, coffee, and snacks will be provided by WPFC staff.
Price: $235 for nonmembers. WPFC members receive discounted registration when logged in to their membership account. Contact us if you are interested in this training but the price of registration is a barrier.
